Pictures of Máxima at the Freddo ice-cream store on the corner of Junín and Guido, in front of the Recoleta Cemetery, inmediately went viral on social media. It was moments after the gala, which she attended in a yellow dress.

The Queen of Netherlands arrived Argentina on Wednesday, coming from Amsterdam. She met her former classmates from Northlands School, from where she graduated in 1988. She also ate sushi, and visited the Boating Club in Béccar.

Within the framework of the G20, Máxima arrived as representative of a UN programme on inclusive finance, and is her first visit to Buenos Aires after the death of her sister Inés.

On this occasion, she is Special Advisor to the UN Secretary General on Financial Inclusion for Development and Honorary President of the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI). On Wednesday she met with Sandleris and Dujovne, with whom she discussed the government’s progress on financial inclusion.

And at the Kirchner Cultural Center, she also participated in a talk with Governor Vidal. The Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) said that Queen Maxima of Holland “celebrated the recent decisions made by the BCRA, aimed at achieving universal access to banking services, developing their use and improving their quality.” “During her visit to Argentina in 2016, as Special Advisor to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Queen Máxima mentioned in her speech in Buenos Aires the importance of the correspondent banking system, so that more people can access financial services. That is why this new regulation of the BCRA is well received,” the statement added.

The Global Financial Inclusion Alliance (GPFI) is an inclusive platform for all G20 countries and others interested in working for financial inclusion. As Honorary President of the GPFI, Queen Maxima promotes the activities of the G20 that seek to achieve greater financial inclusion.
